Stage Combat Camp is a one-week camp designed to introduce students to the dynamic world of stage fighting in creative and safe ways. Students are introduced to storytelling through movement, air broadswords, unarmed combat and foam sword battles.
Camp activities specifically geared for young actors to utilize their bodies and age-appropriate stage combat techniques to enable students to explore Shakespeare’s text emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Daily recess and arts and crafts activities are all part of stage combat camp for a well-rounded experience.
In each session, up to eight students are led through an exploration of stage combat, led by our professional actor combatants, as they create a final performance of scenes from Shakespeare’s most famous plays. Camp meets Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. On the final day of each session, students perform on the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse professional stage for family and friends. After-care is available for an additional fee from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day, except for the final performance day.
Early tuition is $265 per student until March 1, 2020. Tuition will be $295 per student after March 1, 2020.
We offer several of Stage Combat, both at the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse and Atlanta Friend’s Meeting House.
